An outstanding model of a scooter released by Yamaha. With its neo-retro design it emerge stronger by its model. Checklist before signing the paperwork for your new Scooter:

• Visual Inspection, is this the scooter you thought you were buying?
• Check every panel for scuffs, scratches and marks.
• Start the engine.
• Check all lights, indicators, gauges and the horn. Turn the headlights on and check that they aren't pointing too high (as best you can). While you are checking the lights, ask if the replacement bulbs can be bought at a petrol station. If they can't, it's probably a good time to buy a spare set.
• Sit on the scooter and "play ride", indicating, braking etc (for as long as you can without feeling stupid). Remember stupid is a relative thing. Think how stupid you will look hitting the kill switch instead of indicating while doing an overtaking man-oeuvre.
• Be aware that your tires are likely to be brand new. Take extra care because they will not have full grip (especially in the wet) until they have been bedded in a bit. Check that they are correctly inflated.
• Spin the front wheel to see if the speed meter is working.
• Good quality dealers will often clock up a couple of dozen kilometers bedding in the tires and testing the bike on your behalf. However check the speed meter, if it has what you think is excessive kilometers on the clock you should find out why. A scooter however does not have 100 Kilometers on the clock. If yours does it is not a new scooter and you should either demand a replacement or a hefty discount.
• Paperwork. You should get a owners manual and a warranty book. The warranty book should have the dealers stamp, engine, chassis and model details at the barest minimum.
• It is best to flick through the pages and insist that ALL sections are completed.
• Keys, there should be at least two sets and a note of the key number.
• Additionally, before you ride off... Have a quick read of the running in section, to start off on a good foot.

Yamaha Vino

With successful market for vintage old school design for scooters Yamaha launched a model for 2006 with a fuel sipping 4-stroke engine, the Yamaha Vino. A nice, fancy and old school looks is one of the things i like the most in this scooter. The design is great and made with the finest graphics and style.

This model is an upgrade or refresh from the old model which is a 2-stroke engine. This to meet emission regulations and freshen the styling of the Vino. With its refined look and a great fuel sipping 4-stoke engine it became a classic model.

Maintenance of this scooter is easy and fast as the manufacturer itself release a service manual with information and photos that will help the owner and its mechanic working on the scooter. Parts are available on Yamaha stores and some other stores selling scooter parts or genuine Yamaha parts.

Yamaha designed the Vino logo, reshaped the seat, simplified the floorboard and mildly reshaped the back end. The style is wise, with some changes from the old version. The brakes are changed from disc brake to drum brake, wheels now are 5 spokes mags and front telescopic shock absorber are replaced from the older design. Headlights, signal lights and tail lights are sexy looking. Lots of color variations are also release to add more pleasant appearance in the Vino. The new Vino continued to use a carburetor until fuel injection was finally announced for 2013.The new 4-stroke engine didn’t make quite as much power as the 2-stroke but the new engine still performs nicely and it offers a host of advantages like significantly improved mileage, a longer engine life, lower emissions and no smoke or smell. If you want to add power on the Vino you will need to work hard to attain your dream output.

The storage is great in space for your baggage and belongings. Have been not installed with glove box you can still rely on its storage in the compartment. If you want to add a more powerful grip when stopping, you can buy for a disk brake and upgrade the front drum break for some hundred dollars.

Yamaha Majesty

Inline with maxi-scooters this is a very reliable scooter model in terms of high speed and performance. Sold in the USA from 2004 - 2014 and in Canada from 2004-2015 before getting faced-out from the market.

The Majesty engine uses a fuel injected 395cc liquid-cooled 4-stroke, 4-valve, DOHC single cylinder engine. This engine give the Majesty a very impressive performance and power. Running up to 140 kph is good considering other scooter can achieve also this power but the difference is the Majesty fuel economy is fairly great. With a 140 kph running speed it can use up to 80 km/gallon which is great. You power this scooter if you like up to 600 cc if you really love powerful scooters.

There is one thing that this scooter has, a very difficult maintenance when it comes with its dual air filters. This filters require massive inspection, attention and sometimes for worst is replacement. It can lead in the damage of your engine if you lack attention regarding the maintenance and checking of this air filters.

This scooter have plenty of storage. Storage in the compartment under the seat that can accommodate a lot of baggage and other belongings together with two more storage in the dash compartment for some smaller items. The meter panel is awesome, in which all necessary indicator needed are already place in there. Speedometer, fuel gauge, signal and beam indicator, coolant temperature gauge, ambient temperature gauge and an indicator for the oil and belt condition.

The majesty is heavy, huge and powerful compared to other models of scooter that is why both brakes are installed with disc brake to ensure a smooth and quick stop. Suspensions helps the rider to feel relax while driving and an excellent maneuver experience.

Yamaha Razz

For 1987, this little cute scooter replaced the old model Yamaha Riva. With a Yamaha Minarelli engine this scooter becomes more reliable. This engine is specially designed air cooled, 2-stroke 50cc. Upgrading this model of scooter is really a challenge, It only uses a simple single speed design with just one fixed gear.

The body cover design is most likely based on a Japanese look motif. Simple and pretty but still in a basic look. There is no available storage for the Razz and also nothing more awesome feature but still with a nice performance. With its light weight good output performance is achieved. Very nice fuel economy.

Its brake are both drum brakes not needing that much power in a disc brake because this scooter only has a low top speed. If you are in doubt about its maintenance, don't be afraid because almost parts of the razz is almost the same in the Yamaha Jog model. You can check for this part if they can fit in the Razz if needed. I hear that there are some accessories made for this scooter like rear basket or box and windscreen. Without any storage available and if you are be needing storage you can buy for a basket or box for your belongings purposes.

This scooter was designed to be low cost as possible that is why even a glove box is omitted to save from other cost increase. From that idea no other model of scooter out price the Razz. It is a great choice of scooter if you want a low cost but still reliable scooter. This is recommended for small riders.

I really like this scooter model. An innovation of the Yamaha FI scooters. Good technology, design and versatility. Installed with the DiASil cylinder and Forged piston it was really amazing. Die cast Aluminum Silicon cylinder is much better in comparison with Cast Steel Liner type Aluminum cylinders. It has an excellent recyclability, much 30% lighter than cast steel, more affordable in cost and with better cooling performance.

The fueling system is much better in help of YMJET-FI, comparing to normal FI the fuel is mixed in higher pressure making the mixture of fuel to be more contact and gives more oxygen. This creates a much better atomization with good combustion and a more cooler engine.

In terms of fuel economy its fuel consumption can save you a lot up to 70km/L. The body design and color variation make this scooter a head turner to other people. Color varies from a matte combination. The futuristic design and new styles of graphics make it to stand out. The engine runs so smooth and give its best performance. Can run at a top speed of 110 kph.

The most feature in this scooter that I like it the headlight design. Installed with an angle eye projector really gives the headlight an elegant look. Clear and bright halogen bulb that can make you see clearly in dark terrains. The storage capacity is good with compartment under the seat and glove box, also a great space on the foot board may help you from your baggage. The tail light has also a good design with two horizontal looking bar adds a special look and a circular stoplight.

The octagon shape meter panel is awesome. Installed with speedometer, fuel gauge, signal indicator and beam indicator. With the gold color lining in the speedometer and a thick size indicator can make you see more clearly your speed.

Yamaha Riva

Also called as CA50 or Salient in Canada. This scooter have automatic oil injection, CVT transmissions and automatic choke. It was well know for its era with the Honda Aero being launch too that time. This 50 cc engine scooter can run at top speed of 30-35 mph. Just a lack of storage doesn't make it bad model. Its fuel injection and air cooling system may sound basic as today's feature to other scooter.

The fuel consumption is not that great but still good. Just came worse with its fuel pump. The design of this scooter is still stylish and elegant looking. It is installed with a glove box that can accommodate some of your belongings but when we talk about the security and protection, you can't leave any important materials in there.

When it comes in weight this scooter is lighter than other scooter that is the reason why this scooter is really good for small and light drivers. With one seat that measure at 28 inches in height can also give you a relaxing travel.

In case of needs of materials for maintenance, Yamaha is still incapable of providing any parts you need. You can also add some accessories to this scooter to make it look good.
